I now am retired. I worked for GTE as a contractor for approximately 10 years. I started as a clerk, then worked up to a hand drafter. From there went to computer drafting. When I was a computer drafter for an Engineer (Mark Coulter) who was in charge of a certain area. He taught me how to engineer. When GTE had their big layoff off of all contractors, I went to work for an individual contracting firm that did road jobs for GTE (Verizon). I learned how to draft and engineer road jobs a little at this job. Then I went to work for Tampa Bay Engineering as a drafter. I worker my way into engineering or as the firm called it Designer or Project manager. I worked for Tampa Bay Engineering for 8 Years until they shut down the deptartment. I loved my Job.. But I like being retired also.
